Problems and solutions for getting your RV or money from a closing McMahon's RV

Thought I'd start a thread for passerby's to share the current problems they are having with McMahon's RV, and as important, any potential solutions that anyone has come up with. Problems could be anything of note, from failure to pay off trade-ins, failure to deliver vehicle, substantial parts still missing, failure to refund cancelled service agreements. A lot of us stand to lose a lot of money to these crooks, so if any of you reading this have found a solution to any posted problems, please help. So, with that, post a "Comment" if you have a problem or solution. Thanks.

  1. I will start. I bought an extended service agreement (ESA) at the time of purchasing my RV from McMahon's. I have recently sold that coach, and wanted a refund for the unused portion of my ESA. But of course, I cannot get a hold of anyone that works for them now.

  2. The extended service agreement is likely not through McMahon's but instead through an outside insurer. Look at the contract itself and there should be a contact address and phone for the actual administrator, and maybe even a contact for the company that insures the obligation.

    1. Actually the Rev dealer is responsible for a portion of this cost. They made a profit on the warranty and will have to return the prorated profit amount

  3. Thanks for the tip. I have contacted them just yesterday. They couldn't find the contract by number, so I scanned over the documents....waiting to hear back now. My fear: McMahon's never submitted it x-(

  4. Would not be the first time I heard that a dealer took someone's money for a service contract and never submitted the application. Good luck.

  5. Yup, I suspect that is the case here. Considering taking them to small claims court. Who knows if that will go anywhere...

  7. Agreed...exposure would be nice. The a-holes at the top definitely deserve some sort of public shaming.

When you contacted local news, did anything happen?

  9. Here's our situation...We traded in our travel trailer on a new 5th wheel at McMahon's RV Colton with the agreement that they would pay off the balance of $10,100 on our trade-in. That never happened and now we are stuck paying for that trailer that we do not have in our possession. Also we paid for extended service agreement and trident care package to the tune of $6000 in our purchase agreement. Trident refuses to care for our 5th wheel since they have not been paid by McMahon's, but after contacting the ESA company and FAXing them our paperwork, they have agreed to cover us even though they never were paid. We are in process of contacting a lawyer in consumer fraud, filing a case with the police department, and the DMV as well. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

  10. Very sorry hear this story, Cathy. I am copying this post over to the class-action lawsuit thread...I am going over these posts with a lawyer and want to keep all potential claims in one place. Please read today's post and last weeks post, about some things you might consider doing in the meantime. And, check back for a new post in the coming week, as I expect to have some word on the validity of a class-action lawsuit shortly.

  11. I recently purchased a toy hauler that had a bad fuel station controller. They ordered a new one under my contract and its sitting in their warehouse but they wont release it me (even though it belongs to me). I also purchased a sewer hose storage tube through the parts dept that should be there as well although I cannot confirm that it is. Any thoughts on what I should do about it?

    Thanks, Travis

  12. File with the DMV on fraud and break the BK chapter 11 and convert it into a Chapter 7 liquidation. The IRS, State are first, then the employees and then the secured lendors, typically they have all ready returned what they could and that property is being liquidated as we speak. If you do not have an asset then it is considered unsecured and the only hope is to pursue fraud and conversion of assets.

  13. I bought an extended warranty in 2013 from McMahon's RV in Colton. It cost $5,000.00. I want my money back. Is there any chance I will get it back?

  14. Any update to this? Anyone find an attorney? We are still paying on two of these. One we traded in and no longer have and one that we can't get legal title to. Any info is much appreciated!
